The Woodchucks are now offering Amateur Radio License Testing.

Testing sessions are conducted on alternating months, February, April, June, August, October, and December.

Technician, General and Extra Class license testing available
Fee is $14 dollars (exact change please, we are not a financial institution).

Technician Class applicants need photo ID and a FRN number issued by the FCC or your Social Security number.

General and Extra class same as above plus your current license and a copy for us.

Amateur radio licenses in the United States are issued and renewed by the Federal Communications Commission without charge, although the private individuals who administer the examinations may recoup their expenses by charging a fee. Licenses currently remain valid for 10 years from the date of issuance or renewal. Renewal can be done on-line.

Amateur radio license testing is conducted under the supervision of Volunteer Examiner Coordinators (VEC's). Volunteer examiners (VEs) are Amateurs holding General, Advanced or Extra Class licenses who are approved by a VEC may prepare and administer amateur license examinations to applicants.
