WA8Q July 2021 Newsletter
Happy 4th of July. Hope everyone enjoyed the Holiday and refrained from any silliness.
During Field Day, the club welcomed John DeBarr, NA8Y as our newest club member.
John is a Extra Class operator as well as a ARRL VE.
Field Day was June 26 & 27. We had 29 members and guests sign our log book.
The weather was perfect with the gator catching some sun from Rich’s deck.
One noteworthy guest was Tom Sly, WB8LCD. Tom is the Ohio ARRL Section Manager. He was making the rounds and our location was his first stop.
The Mayor of North Royalton and the Council President stopped in as well.
Hal, K8CMD and Brian, AC8RV made some CW contacts as well while at the Cement Tent.
We did not work the overnight but returned Sunday morning for Maryann’s famous quiche.
If you missed the quiche, I have no words.
The July 23rd Woodchuck Business meeting will take place at the cement tent at 7:30pm. Bring a chair.
The Busch Community rooms are reopening as of August 1st without restrictions. Therefore we will resume our Business meetings there starting August 27th at 7:30pm.
The club is forming a membership committee to help promote the club at events. Interested club members let Larry or Chuck know. We want to start with a Chairperson and two committee members.
As always we are looking for Net Control operators. Let Larry or Chuck know if you are interested.
The date for the Woodchuck picnic is August 14th at 2pm.
