WA8Q August 2021 Newsletter

With the dog days of August upon us, our Woodchuck picnic looms on the horizon. The date is Saturday August 14th. It gets underway at 2pm until whenever. Depending on the weather a bonfire may be in order. Please let Chuck or Myself know if you plan on attending so proper food amounts can be procured. Bring a side dish to share if you like. Ice and coolers will be on hand. As always bring a chair

Also this month will be our first Business meeting back at the Busch since the COVID arrived. The date is the 27th and the meeting begins at 7:30pm. Chairs and tables provided. In case you forgot the Busch is located at 7501 Ridge Rd just south of Pleasant Valley.

The club will have a table inside at the Cleveland Hamfest on September 26.
We are looking for some volunteers to staff the table and inform interested Hamfest attendees about just what kind of Club the Woodchucks are. Preprinted flyers will be available so an hour or two of some volunteer time would be great in promoting the Woodchuck Club. If you have something to sell then by all means bring it. You never know who might want to purchase your old stuff.

As always we are looking for Net Control operators. Let Larry or Chuck know if you are interested, Jim Petroski, W8NRX is a recent Graduate of the Woodchucks NCO school.

The Ohio QSO Party is August 28. It runs from noon until midnight. This is a fun event and we have had NEW contest operators spawned from this event More on this as the event get closer
